UDS IS IN THE WAREHOUSE!

At long last, after many delays and hurdles, we just received word that the shipment of Ultimate Dungeon Showdown: A Combat Card Game, has arrived at our fulfillment warehouse in Tacome, WA! Tomorrow I plan on heading down to the warehouse to check out the inventory, and make sure everything is there and in good order. I will post more pictures of the items once I get it into my hands. Honestly, I'm as excited as you are. Ben had the only complete, honest-to-goodness set and a few months back they had brought it down to Seattle for a few of us to experience. I was able to play a single match before Ben had to take off, and I haven't had a chance to hold a real set of UDS cards since. I was tempted to head down to the warehouse tonight, but couldn't abide the traffic before the warehouse closed, so tomorrow I will take the trek, grab a set, take a bunch of pics and post them!

DICE ARE AT THE WAREHOUSE!

I'm also told the resin dice arrived at the fulfillment warehouse last Thursday, September 1st! I plan on checking out the inventory of both resin, metal and stone dice to make sure all is well. Stay tuned for pictures!  

THE MINIS ARE IN MANUFACTURING

We are still waiting on the manufacturing of the miniatures to complete. I'm crossing my fingers they will arrive in the next few weeks. Minis manufacturing has been challenging for us. The prices of shipping has gone up tremendously over the last year, as well as the cost of materials for miniature manufacturing. We wanted to time the arrival of mini's to coincide with the arrive of the dice and UDS, in order to keep the warehousing fees to a minimum. We purposefully held off on pulling the trigger until later in the cycle, but our timing was a bit off. On a positive note, if all goes according to plan, we will have a source to get more cool mini's into your hands much more quickly!

NEXT STEPS

Once the minis arrive we will begin US fulfillment. At that time we will also instruct the warehouse to assemble the pallet with all the items for our EU fans. This pallet will be shipped off to our EU fulfillment center where they will take care of fulfillment for most of our customers outside of the US. We will keep you abreast of any new information once we have it.

It's been WAY too long!

Hey, everyone! It’s been 3 months since our last update. So sorry for the delay in getting out communications, and thank you for posting your questions here. We will do better with our response times! 

Gen Con

We saw loads of UDS excitement at Gen Con, where we held game demos with the release-version of the deck, hosted a few scheduled games and people were able to check out what the final packaging looks like. Thank you to everyone who came by to check it out! It’s thrilling to get so much positive feedback, to watch as people laugh while playing the game, and to know that people are excited to play the game!

Also - Thank you to the dedicated ZOE community members who showed up to hand-create temporary card decks for our demo's. The UDS shipment didn't make it in time for Gen Con so we had to hand-create decks. The cards were printed, hand cut and sleeved resulting in several beautiful decks just in time for the show. Paper cuts were a-plenty!

Ultimate Dungeon Showdown Card Game

First, you should know that in late July the UDS game boxes were loaded on a container vessel and shipped  off to Tacoma, WA, with an estimated arrival date of the 25th of August. As I’m writing this, the website shows the boat is about to land in Tacoma! Once it unloads at the Port of Tacoma it should fairly quickly arrive at our fulfillment center in Lakewood, WA, which is a short drive from the port of Tacoma. I can’t say how many days it will take for the goods to clear customs, be loaded on a truck and moved to the warehouse, but it’s not unreasonable to expect a 7-10 day period. Once it arrives at our fulfillment center, we’ll let you know!

The Dice Sets

The dice are being manufactured here in the US and are in various states of manufacturing. The Stone sets are completed, and the metal sets should be ready by the end of August. We will have them shipped to our warehouse once the metal sets are completed.

The resin sets are going through the cleaning and approval stage and they should be ready to ship in about a week! (Check out the clean dice below!) It’s been a bit of a production journey for the dice. We started the manufacturing process last year, in November, but global supply chain issues have continued to impact manufacturing, as materials and labor shortages have taken their toll across industries. Yesterday we received notice that the dice were in the final stages and should be ready shortly. They will be air shipped directly to our warehouse once they are ready. 

The Maps

The maps are fabulous and ready for printing. Printing the maps will be fast as the pipeline is known and our sources are reliable. To keep our warehousing costs down we will wait to start the print run until we get word that the dice are enroute.

The Mini’s

The mini’s are designed and manufacturing should begin shortly. Our original plan was to get them sourced in the UK, but we are concerned about the 6 week shipping cycle for shipments coming from Europe. We want to avoid shipping delays so we have been working with various domestic companies to find a manufacturer who can meet our price/shipping requirements. Best case, we see the mini’s arrive at our fulfillment center in 4 weeks so we can start fulfillment before the end of September. Worst case, we ship the mini’s separately.

The RPG

Nathan Rice has delivered the Alpha version of the game right before Gen Con. He’s now waiting on feedback to work on the beta version. We expect the final version to be approved in the next 3-4 weeks and we will ship out the link once it’s complete!

Next Steps

Once the items have arrived at the warehouse, fulfillment will begin. As we near the fulfillment stage, we will send out a notice. It will take a few weeks for the warehouse to get all the orders out, and we'll make sure you know when fulfillment actually begins.

Thank you, again, for your patience and grace. These last 12 months have been a grand learning curve for fulfilling a game with so many additional pieces. It doesn’t feel good to keep pointing to the pandemic-related, global supply-chain issues, but over the last year we’ve encountered staffing shortages which contributed to slow email responses and turn around times for manufacturing, manufacturing delays due material shortages, an account manager who sold us a false bill of goods, and shipping issues (it took our game manufacturing 3 weeks to get the game onto a boat). In the end, one of our takeaways is to simplify what we’re offering and make sure we do better at letting you, the community and customers, know what’s happening, when it’s happening. We appreciate your support through this period, and thankful that you've stuck with us while we've been weathering the last couple of years!
